America the Beautiful and Home of the Brave
Today I write in honor of America, my country and my home. I am proud to be an American. I never want to take for granted what was sacrificed in order for our great nation to exist.
We are brave. We are free. We have heart and we look out for those who can’t look out for themselves. Everyday there is a soldier out there willing to sacrifice their own life so we may live free from oppression.
America is a land of dreams. There is hope for all–no matter their station in life. We are told we can achieve anything, and we truly can. God granted us the grace to be in America, and I am so grateful for it.
The sight of our flag brings to mind all those who have fought and who continue to fight for our nation. It reminds me that I must defend and protect our country from the powers of evil. It is my responsibility, and every American’s responsibility, to serve and keep our country great.
When you see the stars and stripes, stop for a moment and think of those who have died in honor of what the flag stands for. It is a beacon of freedom, goodness, strength, faith, bravery, and heart. We cannot forget, and we must not let that die. We can’t let the deaths of brave men and women be meaningless. When I look back on my life, I want to say I gave to my country, not that I gave up on it. I know we have had our dark moments in history, but everyone makes mistakes and after all, we are a nation that is only human.
I pray that God blesses America, for I love this land with my whole heart and soul.
